What Does the Percentage Figure in the Total Value Row of a Proposal Summary Represent?
The percentage figure is showing the difference in performance between the current account (or model if you are using the Compare & Analyze tool) and the comparison model, as a percentage of the starting value.
Here is a quick example:
Starting value = $1,000,000
Current Portfolio ending value = $1,533,486
Comparison Model ending value = $2,044,320
Percentage calculation = Comparison Model ending value - Current Portfolio ending value (or current model ending value if using the Compare & Analyze tool) / Starting value, x 100.
In this case, it would be:
($2,044,320 - $1,533,486) / 1,000,000, x 100
= 510,834/1,000,000, x 100
= 0.510834 x 100
= 51.08%
